Tesco recently started offering an optician’s service through its major stores, using local opticians but providing thier own facilities and of course selling both contact lenses and glasses.

They have what must be the cheapest glasses deal available anywhere – some decent looking frames which even with lenses fitted cost JUST £20.00! Yes just twenty pounds for a new pair of specs. And it’s an excellent, fast service to boot – unlike many local optical services Tesco is open and has qualified staff available 7 days a week, which is really handy if you’re busy at work and you can’t get around to seeing an optician

The contact lenses services is excellent, with contact lenses arriving by post to your door with minimum fuss. But the £20 cost for a pair of glasses is really ana amazing price, and if you’re like me and constantly losing or sitting on your frames and breaking them then this is a great service, get a couple of cheap pairs of glasses and then have another expensive pair for ‘special occasions’!
